Children are not leaves to be pressed in books of remembrance. They are not to be kept on shelves away from the elements.  That only leads to brittle skeletons.  To memories of those whose memories fade.  Sure, they are cherished by the one who placed them in safety.  But who does it benefit?  Who will see when the book is long forgotten?

Children are not what’s next.  They are what is now.  Do not shield them or ask for them to be spared the wind, the rain, and the elements that can be harsh.  They must travel their own course, fulfill their own destiny, traveling on the wind of the Spirit’s direction.  And yes, even you must sometimes pick them, kiss them gently and with a breath set them free to land where God wants them to grow far from you and outside of your care.  But do not fear for they are more resilient than you know.  They will never leave His sight. And besides they were made to fly.
